Stappenplan

1

Add the flour, yeast, sugar, salt, sunflower oil, and water to a large bowl. Mix well and knead for 10-12 minutes until smooth. Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.

2

Divide the dough into two portions.

3

On a floured surface, roll out one portion into a round shaped sheet. Repeat with the other portion.

4

Spread butter over one sheet and place the other on top. Cut the dough into 12 triangles.

5

Shape the croissants: Take a triangle of dough and gently stretch it out.

6

Roll each triangle from the wide base to the tip to create the croissant shape.

7

Place the croissants on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Brush with the beaten egg and let the croissants rise for 30 minutes or until they have doubled in size.

8

Place the croissants in a preheated oven at 200°C (392°F). Bake for 10-15 minutes or until they are golden brown. Keep an eye on the baking time, as ovens can vary.
