Stappenplan

Preparation of Mashed Potatoes

1

Peel the potatoes and cut into cubes. Place in a pot and fill it halfway with water. Bring the water to a boil and cook the potatoes for 15-20 minutes, or until tender. Drain the potatoes.

2

Add salt, black pepper powder, salad seasoning, butter, and milk to the potatoes. Mash or beat the potatoes until smooth.

Preparation of the steak

3

Heat 40 grams of butter in a frying pan over medium heat. Season the steak with thyme, salt, and black pepper powder. Cook the steak for about 2-3 minutes on each side for medium-rare. For a well-done steak, cook it a bit longer. Turn the steak only once to develop a nice crust.

4

In a bowl, mix the sweet soy sauce, sambal oelek, honey, and soy sauce until smooth. Brush the cooked steak with this sticky sauce.

Preparation of the mushroom sauce

5

In the same frying pan, melt more butter over medium heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook for 5-7 minutes until golden brown. Pour in the heavy cream and stir well. Then add the soy sauce, sweet soy sauce, sambal oelek, and cayenne pepper powder. Increase the heat and stir until the sauce thickens, about 4-5 minutes.

6

On a plate, scoop the mashed potatoes. Place the steak next to it and spoon the mushroom sauce over the steak. Serve with mashed potatoes. Side dishes: Consider serving with green beans, roasted potatoes, or a fresh salad.
