Place the flour in a large bowl. Add the yeast, sugar, salt, yogurt, sunflower oil, and lukewarm water. Mix well and knead for 10-12 minutes. |
Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour in a warm place, or until it has doubled in size. |
In a large bowl, combine the crème fraîche, herb cream cheese, egg, salt, chicken seasoning, ras el kouzina, black pepper powder, and salad seasoning. Mix well. Wash and cut the chicken into pieces. Add the chicken to the mixture and let it rest, covered, in the fridge for 30 minutes. |
In another bowl, mix the flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, red bell pepper powder, cayenne pepper powder, salt, and powdered sugar. |
Add the yogurt mixture (50 ml) to the flour mixture. Crumble together using your hands. |
Coat the chicken pieces in the flour mixture and repeat this step. Set aside. |
Peel and slice the yellow onion into strips and place in a bowl. Add the grated cheese and salad seasoning. Mix well and set aside. |
Divide the dough into 32 pieces (26 g each) and shape into balls. |
Take a ball of dough and roll it flat with a rolling pin (9 cm). Repeat this process. |
Place the dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spread some herb cream cheese on it. |
Take another piece of dough and spread it again with the herb cream cheese. |
Coat the dough with the cheese-onion mixture and place it on top of the dough with the herb cream cheese. Repeat the process. |
Let the dough rise for 30 minutes or until it has doubled in size. |
Place the cheese-onion bread in a preheated oven at 200°C. Bake for 12-18 minutes, or until golden brown. Keep an eye on the baking time, as every oven works differently. Cover the bread immediately with a clean tea towel once they come out of the oven to keep them soft and fluffy. |
Heat a layer of sunflower oil in a frying pan over medium heat (170°C/338°F). Fry the chicken until crispy and golden brown on both sides. Drain the crispy chicken pieces on a paper towel. |
